The 44th annual Montreux Jazz Festival was held recently, and this year’s edition was one of the busiest yet. Thousands of music fans travelled from all over the world to witness some of the biggest names in jazz come together in Switzerland.

The festival plays host to both established acts, such as Herbie Hancock, Nina Simone, and Prince, as well as upcoming young talent. Throughout the event, several stages were setup throughout Montreux featuring different genres of music ranging from hip hop to soul and more.

In addition to the top headliners, thousands of free concerts were held throughout the streets, showcasing some of the finest undiscovered local talent out there. With montreux becoming recognized as an international hotspot for jazz, many of these shows quickly filled up with visitors eager to hear unique acts they had never heard before.

The atmosphere in Montreux was buzzing with energy throughout the entire festival. Everyone from enthusiastic new fans dancing their way through the packed streets to veteran audience members enjoying every second seemed charmed by the sounds of jazz. Not only did everyone have a chance to experience incredibly talented musicians live, but also get exposed to new styles and directions contemporary jazz is taking.

The 44th edition of Montreux Jazz Festival certainly was a great success. Thousands of people descended upon this otherwise sleepy town and its citizens welcomed them all with open arms. And with many people from all corners of then world celebrating jazz together, it certainly served its purpose – truly uniting people through music!

The Montreux Jazz Festival 2019 has been a massive success, with thousands of music-lovers from all over the world flocking to the famous Swiss city. This year’s festival saw an all-star international lineup, with some of the biggest names in music – both established and up and coming – performing on five stages throughout Montreux’s lakeside promenade.

The main headline acts this year included The Black Keys, Thom Yorke, Miles Davis, John Legend, Janelle Monae, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robert Glasper and N.E.R.D., and there were many more to choose from – appropriate for all fans of music regardless of their taste.

The atmosphere of Montreux Jazz Festival 2019 was simply electric – countless people gathered in the city’s vibrant streets to absorb all aspects of the music: from jazz to funk, from blues to hip-hop, from rock to folk. It definitely felt like an international party!

Montreux’s quaint streets were packed day and night with locals and visitors alike, enjoying the open-air concerts that took place at various points throughout each day. Rapidly becoming one of Europe’s largest music festivals, this year’s event can only be described as a huge success.

For those lucky enough to be there it was certainly a rewarding experience – combining breathtaking scenery with a never-ending supply of quality tunes!
